As always, The “New Forest Jazz Workshop” had a good night last Wednesday evening, when it ran another of its monthly workshops and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

The NFJW is considering slowing down the introduction of so many new numbers, because it has been noticed that we now have over a hundred numbers in our set-list already: maybe it’s time to consolidate, especially in view of the fact that we are getting an increasing number of gigs!

We want to focus on three particular local gigs: see below, and we believe that we should settle on a specific set-list.

The three forthcoming gigs that we want to focus on are:

  1. a) Friday evening 26th May: background music, while the French visitors arrive for the 35th anniversary of Fordingbridge/Vimoutiers Twinning festivities
  2. b) Saturday evening 1st July, in St Mary’s Church, Fordingbridge, part of the new “Patronal Arts and Music Festival”
  3. c) Weekend in Vimoutiers: Friday afternoon 13th – Sunday afternoon 15th October, the French part of the Fordingbridge 35th anniversary of Twinning

Therefore,  the NFJW has got some work to do!

The next meeting is on Wednesday evening 22nd February, as usual at Godshill Village Hall, right opposite the Fighting Cocks Public House.
