The Council are looking for 2 part-time Assistants.

Admin Assistant based at the Town Hall to work 16 hours per week over 4 days Tuesday - Friday, plus evening meetings and to provide assistance to the Town Clerk.

Information/Admin Assistant based at the Information Office to work 16 hours over 2 or 3 days (inc. Thurs & Friday)/occasional evening meetings.  This is predominately a customer liaison role providing a front line service.

Relevant experience and qualifications desirable but commitment and motivation essential.

Applicants need to be computer literate, able to take minutes and be flexible in their approach to work.

The Town Council office accommodation is currently located at two sites within the town with the Information Office at Kings Yard, Salisbury Street and the principal officers (Town Clerk, Admin Assistant & Responsible Finance Officer) based at the Town Hall in the High Street.

In order to make the best use of accommodation and introduce flexibility across the staff team, a review is currently being undertaken; this may result in the relocation of staff.

The job descriptions of both Assistants give details of a large range of tasks and while not exhaustive, demonstrates the variety of the roles and the requirement for the post-holders to possess a flexible approach to fulfilling those roles.
